CLEAN up PAHRUMP® is the first southern Nevada chapter of Desert Pigs, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based out of Dayton, Nevada.

Members of our chapter got tired of sitting idly by when there was such a growing problem in our community. So, we decided to take action. 

We believe that many hands make light work and through education and support, we can make a difference. 

We have challenged ourselves as individuals and as a group to spend one hour a week collecting and properly removing trash.

Faith Muello moved to Pahrump, Nevada in the summer of 2017. Shortly after she moved here, she noticed a trash problem on BLM land and along the roadsides while out riding her horse. 

One day, after boldly suggesting on a social media site that someone simply pick up some trash that they were otherwise complaining about, the admin of said site got involved and scolded her for suggesting that someone actually do something for their community and help clean up. 

That same person then suggested that she go off and create a betterment of Pahrump page, or something to that effect.  

That same afternoon she drove her truck off of S. Fox Ave onto BLM land. It took her 1 hour to load the bed of her truck with trash, and that is how she came up with the concept of cleaning up 1 hour weekly. 

From there she enlisted help and the rest is history: CLEAN up PAHRUMP® was born! 

Fast forward to 2022: Away from home for nearly 5 years is enough for me. Give me a good blizzard over the death of the desert's summer any day. Between our new chapter president, Jason Dobson, and Phil Wooley, founder and president of Desert Pigs, CLEAN up PAHRUMP® is in amazing hands and will continue to do incredible things for Pahrump and surrounding areas. I encourage anyone living near Pahrump, NV to get involved and join this amazing team!
